Dr. Vilelmini Kalabratsidou is a performer, researcher, and lecturer in the Department of Product and Systems Design Engineering at the University of the Aegean in Syros. Her work centers on designing interactive interfaces that auditory and visually augment information derived from the human body, such as heart activity. She explores the use of these interfaces in the performing arts, with a special focus on dance, aiming to deepen the audience's sensory perception and foster a stronger connection with the performer. Dr. Kalabratsidou earned her doctorate at the intersection of Computer Science and Cognitive Science (Cognitive Computing) from Rutgers University in the USA. As a trained dancer, she graduated from the Dance Department of the Athens Conservatoire. She was a dancer at Albano Ballet Company for 2 years and has received distinctions and awards in international ballet competitions.
